Speaking at the prestigious Freedom Forum conference 'News Traditions and Transitions', Harold Evans said ITN's action was 'unhelpful and inadvisable'. He called for open debate and 'an investigative piece of reporting' into the issues raised by LM rather than ITN's 'cynical' recourse to libel law.
