No Ordinary Libel Case

It's with slight bemusement to hear that ITN's lawyers have ploughed through all the back issues of LM, and the dunderheads still don't get it. Or maybe they do, just they have nothing to lose by playing the charge of malice and everything to gain from spinning out the legal game as long as possible by arguing every irrelevant point.

One incidental point, though: presumably if 'qualified privilege' was extended to cover criticism of bodies like ITN this would not be a sufficient defence in cases like this one where malice is alleged.
